The BMPR (Business, Media, Public Relations) is an open community with a focus on social media technology and the adaptation of its uses in the business, media and public relations industries. We welcome everyone to join us at our monthly event to learn more about the exciting technologies and applications of social media, meet new people and connect with peers.

Meet The BMPR founders and officers:
Donna Tuttle
A journalist for more than two decades, Donna is a projects editor for the San Antonio Business Journal, where she edits special publications, manages the newsroom’s Twitter account, and writes features and in-depth projects. A proud alum of Syracuse University, Donna also handles the paper’s editorial internship program and is one of the three founders of The BMPR. She sits on the boards of the Association of Women in Communications, Central Catholic High School and is part of small group organizing the city’s first TEDx conference in 2010. Joe Ruiz
Joe is a journalist and currently works as the engagement editor for NOWCastSA.com, a community journalism nonprofit in San Antonio (No, that doesn’t mean he reports on engagements). Prior to returning to home in the Alamo City, he spent 14 months in Seattle, WA, as the lead news producer for seattletimes.com, where his team won multiple awards for online news coverage. He also shares with The Seattle Times in the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Reporting. Before leaving Donna, TheBMPR team and San Antonio in late 2009, he worked as the nightside Web editor for KSAT.com in San Antonio. He is one of the three founders of The BMPR. He’s a proud member of the Online News Association. He has been a panelist and instructor for various conventions and enjoy teaching online journalism and how to report using online tools. Andi previously worked as a public relations and social media coordinator for KGBTexas Public Relations / Advertising in San Antonio, Texas. She graduated from Trinity University and is currently earning her master’s degree in Public Relations at the University of Maryland. She is originally from Quito, Ecuador, but is proud to have called San Antonio, Texas, her home for five years. She is one of the three founders of The BMPR and co-organizer of TweetCamp San Antonio. Nan is Chief Inspiration Officer at SalesBy5. He is a coach for Strengths, a data-proven team-building process that teaches teams how to play to their strengths and manage around their weaknesses. He is professionally trained with data-backed processes to teach companies how to better market themselves and attends several top-tier business conferences each year. Nan is also recognized as the resident Power User for BlackBerryCool.com, an international BlackBerry enthusiasts’ blog. His continued education in that arena comes from attending world-class conferences to learn the newest trends in technology and communications. Sean is a media specialist for KGBTexas Public Relations/Advertising. After 20 years as a print journalist — most recently at the San Antonio Experess News covering Toyota, manufacturing, banking and aviation — Sean joined KGBTexas to lend his expertise to most all of the company’s accounts. He advises, writes and develops media plans — both social and traditional — and shepherds the company’s Facebook and Twitter accounts as well as its blog, Communi-K.
